Frierson Elementary School’s Love Match

With the arrival of spring, E.L. Frierson Elementary School has introduced an exciting new tennis program for interested students. So far, with the help of parents and staff, “Red Ball” teams (for kindergarten through 2nd grade) have been formed. The teams will practice at school and play in matches with other local elementary schools.

Support Backpack Buddies through Annual Fundraiser

Support Backpack Buddies through their annual fundraiser with Mike Gorski of Island Transportation. Usually a part of the Chili Cookoff, Mike Gorski and donors have secured $57,000 that will now be used to match dollar-for-dollar donations made by YOU, the residents of Kiawah, Seabrook, and Johns Islands.

STEM at Mount Zion Elementary

We want to update you on the status of the STEM Program sponsored by the Kiawah Cares Foundation for Mount Zion Elementary School on Johns Island, South Carolina. As you can imagine, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic this spring, and subsequent closure of all South Carolina schools, had a significant effect on the program. However, we have good news to report and high hopes for the program now that school has resumed.
