Reading Partners and Little Free Libraries Partner to Foster Diversity in Education
Read in Color is a new Reading Partners initiative bringing diverse books to Little Free Library book-sharing boxes across the country. Reading Partners is proud to partner with other community organizations to bring ten new Little Free Library boxes to the Charleston area. These boxes are in honor of their 10 year anniversary and will be filled with diverse books centered on racial equity, empathy and kindness.
The Little Free Libraries will be placed in areas where access to books is limited. Reading Partners is excited to expand their book distribution to elementary aged students who do not participate in in-school programs. As an extension of our Take Reading With You program, and their hope is that these new library boxes will help get books into more students' hands.
There are several ways to get involved with this exciting new project!
