The fifth annual chili cook off benefiting the Backpack Buddies program, run by the Kiawah Women’s Foundation and Backpack Buddies Seabrook Island, will take place on Saturday, March 16 from 1-4 p.m. at Bohicket Marina.
Sample the best chili on the Sea Islands as local businesses compete to be crowned winner. Tickets are $10 for the tasting. Get them in advance at the Ice Cream Boat or at the event.

The program is offered at Mt. Zion Elementary, Angel Oak Elementary, Frierson Elementary, Haut Gap Middle School and St. Johns High School.
